Lauren Conrad may not be getting much love from former Teen Vogue boss, Lisa Love, but she's not letting a few words bring her down. The reality star's Spring 2008 collection has hit the virtual racks and is ready for purchase. Most of it is very basic, but there are some pieces that stand out, like this Nicole Skirt ($85). Check it out and decide for yourself whether Lisa Love was right when she said: "I think it’s more T-shirt kind of things and jeans, very simple basics."

so my lips are sealed about this one - for you mom! Eye-wink

oh and i agree with lisa love too. i dont think any of those clothes are horrible, but come on you can find those same shirts at stores like charlotte rousse, forever 21, wet seal, etc. she should at least be original since she basically had this opportunity handed to her.

Yeah, I don't think the clothes are awful, they just don't warrant spending the extra $$. Forever 21 I think is MORE fashion forward, and you could find a lot of Lauren's stuff at the GAP. Smiling

I like her collection. I think of it as classic casual...pieces you can invest in that will have staying power in your wardrobe which you can add trendy items to. If they're made well, there's no comparison to the quality issues you can have with discount store clothing. I like having straight forward pieces that make my life easier. Great job Lauren and good luck!

there's nothing interesting with these clothes. it's like there's no new design at all. maybe she'll be more flexible as she matures as a designer.

It's pretty simple; nothing you couldn't find at your local H&M. She's playing it safe, and understandably so since she is, after all, not a designer.

riddle me this....does anyone actually believe that lauren designed any of these clothes?

i know for fact she didn't...she may have input, but she's no designer....she's a hack!

I agree that they are basics that you can build a wardrobe around, but they are just too expensive. She doesn't have a strong enough name for herself or her style to charge that much. Has she ever heard of a PATTERN? stripes...polka dots...anything? what about some bright colors???

    i've been stalking this site.
and i don't care if she designed it or not, that little braided dress is cute.
and nissyoh (a user here) has two looks with lc dresses that are to die for.

    Yawn.

This kind of lazy, endorsement "fashion" makes me so mad! So many talented designers will never get a break like hers and this is what she churns out? I feel like I've seen every one of these pieces before... mostly in Rachel Palley's collections from a few years back.

I think that Lisa Love was just being too nice on describing this collection. It is way to expensive and I could get the same look at American Appearal, and that is a store known for work out/ spandex material and it is all relatively under $40.

I like this fashion line but I think it costs way to much. The teen vogue editor is right its mostly basics but basics can do someone alot of good. I would definately buy some of these outfits if they where cheaper. I mean come on I think its like $65 for a tank? Hello way to much. Heidi's on the other hand is much cheaper and I cant wait for hers to come out.

Personally, I like Lauren, her style, and a bunch of her designs.I'm a big fan of simple, clean looking clothing. They're too expensive for my budget, but if money were no object, I'd buy these beauties...

Wow. I *guess* this embodies the laid-back California girl, but I'm a little offended. Girls from LA are at least *innovative* with their fashion. This just looks like she re-labeled stuff from GAP and Brass Plum.

If she really went to fashion school you can't tell. This stuff is so basic and could be found in any store. Lauren has no talent and should just stick to being in a fake "reality" TV show!

Shoot...I'd rather buy the 75% Last Chance Clearance for women..on Target.com

    That or go to Walmart...

I don't see the appeal of her designs. It's not quite innovative, it's pretty basis. Oh well, I'm not a designer. But I'm definitely not her consumer base.

My retail teacher at FIDM told us a couple things about Lauren, first, shes not a good student and that has a "ghost designer" (whom she knows) Lauren doesnt do ANYthing except sign the pieces off and provide the name and the money :]

p.s. teachers arent happy she's back in school

Yeah, uh, pretty lame and irrelevant.

How could this even be considered a "line" or a "collection" or even "designed?"

Its exactly like everything on the racks right now at F21, H&M, American Apparel, Target...should I keep going?

Oh well, maybe in a couple weeks it'll all go on clearance and it'll be really cheap, (cheaper than the stuff at H&M even), and someone will buy it from her, and rip the tags out so that no one will know it's her stuff.

Cos that would just be embarrassing.
