Trend Alert: Attack of the Silver Handbags!

It has been a long time since I have seen something so bold, so much, so shiny, as the attack of the silver handbag. I am perplexed by the myriad of handbag options in this in-your-face color. I mean really, how wearable is a big, bold silver metallic bag? So maybe tasteless heiress Paris Hilton can sport one, but can the soccer mom (no offense)? And these aren't the only ones. I have also spotted new silver bags by Furla, Michael Kors, Tod's, Bally and Lambertson Truex. So take cover - we are under attack!

To see my vote for the most wearable (and cheapest!) silver handbag I've seen so far, read more

Nine West Pocket Squared Hobo, $62.10. This matte silver bag delivers this wild trend in a subtle, totally wearable fashion. It is not gaudy or flashy, it's just right. And when the trend is over, you won't feel bad about chucking it to the curb (or not).

I love the second Fendi (3rd one on the bottom row) but I'm not too crazy about the rest.

cringing, I don't like them only because they don't fit my style. I'm pretty conservative as opposed to trendy.

No no no. Too shiny for me. Give me a metallic shoe and the jewelry. That's all I can handle.

Love this trend. although, I had my silver purse last year... Smiling I guess I am little ahead of the trend. Hope it stays around. Silver adds a little something to an outfit.

I love silver - hate gold. Nice to see silver in the spotlight for a change.

Trend? Now? Last December (2005), I remember sitting outside in this mall having a cocktail on a date, and seeing all these silver bags and had 80s flashbacks. I got one for Christmas from him and it is nice to have for dressy all black nights. I don't care if it is in, it's small enough to make a nice handbag and to add flair to the little black dress.

The Chanel bag is cute but I'm not exactly going to race off and buy a silver metallic bag.

I like them & I am a mom...I think I could pull this trend off but.. I hate to drop a ton of $$$ on a bag only for it to be "out" as fast as it came in...
I'd prefer to buy a nice classic CD or LV bag anyday.
