This is a fashion DO for me. I believe in order to pull off these type of shorts, you'll have to have a somewhat defined waist.

Almost famous- I agree! I'm a size 8 and there is NO way I would even try this on a dressing room! Of course, that's what I said about skinny jeans, and I'm super tall, so they still worked on me. Still, here....you would need to be very small or have a very defined waist.

Yeah, Snowbunny11 I've seen Beyonce were these type of shorts and it looks horrible on her. she has a short torso so the shorts look like the meet her breast...even in a push up bra..lol

But isn't it all about proportion almost famous...if you have a shorter torso or are petite (like me) you can wear a medium rise. It will have the appearance of a high waist without hitting you in the boobs. I do that for all the styles I like but people say I can't wear.

I bought a pair of high waisted black shorts last spring. I'm so ahead! JK! I love them, but I agree, on bigger people they don't look as good. I'm 5'3 and 100lbs so I'm pretty small and high waisted shorts make me look taller.

Definitely not for me....wide hips.

i have no idea if i'd look good in them. i'm thin w/a tiny waist BUT i also have hips and a butt. i'm afraid i might look too hippy in these shorts or that i'll get a gap in the back of the shorts. i guess i'll try a pair this weekend
