How many pairs of sunglasses do you own? I'm in the midst of a sunglasses clean out, actually, so you don't want to know how many pairs I have accumulated over the years. Let's just say I'm trying to be more selective and smarter with my purchases. But yes, we have to protect our precious eyes from those harmful UV rays. When buying the new sunnies, considering certain factors can help narrow your search and results. Here are some suggestions on finding your perfect pair of sunnies.

To learn tips on finding the perfect pair of sunnies for round, oval, and square shaped faces, read more

  • Round Shaped Face: Look for angular, dark lenses and avoid anything round.
  • Oval Shaped Face: Lucky you! Your face shape can handle just about any frame shape. Square and rectangular shapes are your best bet.
  • Angular Shaped Face: Offset sharp features with softer shaped frames such as oval and round shaped lenses.

I'm an oval and always always wear rectangular. I don't care what's in or trendy, I'm wearing what works for my face. Smiling

I"m oval/angular- a narrow oval with sharp cheekbones and a more angular jaw. I have a really, really hard time finding sunglasses. Rectangular sunglasses with more of a cat eye tend to work best.

Oval and I usually like the big round sunnies but I have to say that the square ones look good on me. I love glasses but they can run you quite a penny.

I also have an oval-shaped face and I have a variety of different sunglasses. Sometimes I'm in the mood for big and roud, other times I prefer sleek and rectangular. I have way too many pairs too...I should really sort through them.

I can never tell if I'm square or round Sad I mean I'm not perfectly round but then again I'm not perfectly square either. What am I?

Round face and flat nose bridge here, even the asian fit doesn't do it for me!

Round and I always go through the sunglasses displays at least twice before settling on anything, so I will try vetoing any round frames and see if that helps! I'm usually drawn to square and aviators, anyway.

I found that most faces look good in a smaller frames. I saw that Hurley just came out with some really cute retro frames that look like they would flatter a lot of different face shapes. My favorite are the "Raptue" one that look like 50's frames. You can see them on swell.com, or read about them at blog.swell.com.

I have an oval shaped face and a stash of sunglasses of all kinds to prove it! I love anything over sized, though - so Jackie O!
