Target Strikes NYC

You're probably wondering: Fab has been in New York for a week now, and has she done any shopping? Not really, but today was the day, because I dropped by one of the four limited-time-only Target Bullseye Bodegas in Manhattan. And you know I can't resist Target. For Fashion Weekers and Manhattan folk, these mini stores showcase all the newest designer collaborations and the most popular Target brands. So cool, right? But the most exciting was first dibs on the Sigerson Morrison for Target shoes, the Anya Hindmarch bags (not in stores and online until Oct. 12), and Jonathan Saunders's Go International collection (available Oct. 5). They also had Sonia Kashuk's latest and the best of their home lines. It was crazy, with loud music and bright red and yellow Target displays everywhere, but they did serve refreshing watermelon juice drinks. The goods: I bought a black and white polka dot mini skirt from Jonathan Saunders's collection, and these metallic blue studded Sigerson Morrison flats — $50 for both, not bad. I think I'll wear one of my new items to the shows tomorrow, hot off the racks.

I love the Andy Warholness of it all. The fake Target products are fantastic!

Wow...the Anya bags actually look incredibly cheap. The idea of the bags is nice, but really...pvc????? It IS possible to manufacture a bag (or shoes) with real leather and suede without it costing a fortune. Isaac Mizrahi does it, so why can't the guest designers?

I went to the one on 57th today, and the pickings were already so slim. It would have been more fun had Target planned to have a full selection at all four stores for the entire weekend. Looks like I'll have to save my pennies until mid October.
