Trend Alert: Two Toned

Sadly, not all of us can pull off this Armani Prive tonal black strapless gown. But all can be inspired by its two toned appeal. A bit Jekyll, and a bit Hyde, these pieces deliver some style surrealism. The effect spans clothes and accessories, so choose to be dramatic, be Klum.

The adventurer in me has been eyeing this Marc by Marc Jacobs "Twinsie" Cardigan ($268). Not only am I a cardigan collector, I am also crushing on anything gray. This is not your typical cardi; two toned, here I come!

Now THIS is what Holly Golightly would wear to a Salvador Dali exhibit. Too bad that girl on Project Runway couldn't actually pull this off!

Now what is the difference between this idea and color blocking? Heidi's dress is more texture difference then two toned.

i like this dress - but some two tone things aren't really style. i think that this is more of a texture thing rather than a tonal difference so it kind of works.

All depends on the piece. Sometimes two-toned can be interesting and flattering, sometimes it's Two-Face gone fabric. Tis a fine line...right down the middle of whatever you're wearing.
