Trend Alert: Cuban Heels

As evidenced by the risk-taking Mary-Kate Olsen, the days of the skinny-heel fad are fast fading and chunkiness is taking over the feet of fashionistas all over. If a wedge and skinny heel were to mate, the cuban heel would be the glamorous offspring! Feet everywhere are soon going to be rejoicing because the sturdy cuban heel makes for a more comfortable and sexy prance-around-town.

I bought some cuban heels and love them but I love my skinnies too. I love Linea Paolo shoes...fashionable, comfy and not expensive.

I like the skinny heels better. I like wedges, but not this merger heel, I don't know about it.

they're cute but i'm sticking to my skinny heels and my thicker skinny heels (a la marc by marc jacobs). i was never a big fan of wedges.

I thought a cuban heel was a low heeled shoe for latin dance and ballroom, not a high platform. Either way, I'm not feeling them. I'd prefer either a platform wedge or a proper heel... the hybrid looks awkward and clunky

You're right, Thatgirljj, traditionally, cuban heels are for latin dance and ballroom. But these days, the mix between a wedge and a sexy heel is being called a cuban heel!

I guess I'm the minority, but I think these are great. I really like the first and last pairs, best.

i agree with musewings and fab--i'm loving the cuban heel/wedge trend! skinny heels may be sexy but my feet just can't survive in them. i'm head over heels (hehe) for the kors michael kors egypt cork wedges, but those harlot slingbacks are a close second! hopefully my feet will have more of a chance in them...

love me some cuban heels. didnt even know that there was a specific name...just thought it was a reg wedge. i just bought the lin paolos today in the same color, gaaah adore them. id say they were an impulse buy, but not really bc i had been eyeing them for weeks but never tried them on until today. i have to say, THANK GOD FOR LINEA PAOLO...im 4'9 and wear a size 4 and they actually carry my size for a pretty decent price. yum.
