Don't Call Her Copycat Kate!

Here's the latest on Kate Moss's Topshop line due out in T-minus twelve days and counting! We stumbled upon a little story via the Daily Mail that is badmouthing our girl a bit. They ask the question: "Has Kate Moss done anything more for the money than open up her own wardrobe?" Well, seeing as how she was approached to do the collection because she is a style icon and has fresh style, I think taking inspiration from her closet is a good start! After all, this was the technique Madonna used for her recent H&M collection. I don't think raiding a coveted closet is such a bad thing...but I would hope in her future collections we see some never-witnessed-before brilliance. Time will tell. In the meantime, May 1st fast approaches and this floral dress has Fab written all over it. To see more of these comparisons click here.

I think the lower right outfit looks a little more Ellen DeGeneres than Kate Moss.

I love the yellow dress and the shorts! Where else is she supposed to draw her inspiration from? There has to be some element of Kate Moss' personal style in her Top Shop line, or else what's the point of having her design it?

well, actually I just love the floral minidress. Wonder who else besides Kate can wear it without seeming too Cloe Sevigny'ish though, i.e. like an eighties fashion victim. (Remember Chloe's shiny floral cocktail thing from a couple of weeks ago?).

I think that this is going to be an intersting line, sell really well and more will come. I was excited about Madonna's line and then became disappointed. I'm hoping it's different for Kate but I'm still looking forward to seeing what she's got. These look cute.

Don't be hard...she isn't a fashion designer, and it's her first fashion collection, i think it's not bad to take inspirations from the closet when you have such a great style

I'm not sure if you'll be able to buy online. I've read that it is going to be distributed to stores very selectively. Nothing goes on sale until May 1st though, so we'll see!

Omigosh I just realised I have the pair of shoes the model in the top left corner (wearing the floral dress) is wearing in burnt red!

I love that pair of shoes.

I think these designs will be difficult for the normal women to wear. Which includes me : (

Still I would like to see them up close. Photos make a lot of the lower priced fashions look great only to have your fantasies dashed once you see them in the store.

such cute clothes for stick figures. what about real women? these designs perpetuate and encourage unhealthy lifestyles.

The only person who earned the title of "Copykate" was Sienna Miller.
