Fab Blab: Angelina Jolie's Stylist Dishes on Her Custom-Made Versace Dress

A while back, I interviewed Angelina Jolie's stylist Jennifer Rade. I recently ran into her again at a Marciano event, and she had lots more to say about "Angie." Jen had just flown in from NYC, where she worked with Angelina on her Changeling red carpet look. She and the actress dreamed up the custom-made Versace LBD together. So why did Angelina play it safe? Jen explained that while most people only have a strong eye, a strong jawline, or a strong lip, Angelina has them all.

Therefore, she wears minimal, classic clothing that lets her features shine. Makes sense. Jen has suggested frillier frocks to her client, but to no avail. She even pulled a colorful cocktail dress from the closest rack and we agreed it would be too busy for Angelina. Now if only the actress had been there to put in her two cents!

It can't be custom, Mariah Carey wore the same dress I think a little while before angelina wore hers, the only diff was that MC's was a few inches shorter and she looked terrible in it.

Yes, it was a custom to fit - but also notice Angie's hemline is longer. They chose the dress and customized the fit and length. xo

You would have to customize anything in order to accommodate Angie's boobage IMO.

Angie looked terrific in the dress. She always looks classy for every occasion. I love that she wore real shoes and not those horrors we've seen other wear this past few months.

I think it was just custom fit. She wouldn't be anywhere close to the sample sizes they would normally get. You can tell that she has a lot of support on underneath the dress (most likely Spanx or something) and it would have had to be fitted as to not stretch/show the areas that were "problem areas" after giving birth.

I understand that, but I like how lately she's been dressing more motherly and soft - not that she can't wear wild clothing still, but, for instance, I loved that long, flowy, olive green dress she wore to the Kung Fu Panda premiere. that's how I like to see her - it makes her look so at peace...

I've always thought she was so classy, even if a bit mundane, with her choices to events. It's interesting to find out the reasoning behind it. However, that one time she wore the yellow dress, it almost killed me. I don't think she's ever been more beautiful!

I agree with her strong features and going with a more suttle look however for a costume dress this one is both a bore and doesn't fit right? I really don't lie this dress.
