A Fabby Halloween: Party Girl

H-h-hello? If you're going to be Parker Posey's best role in this mid-90 flick for Halloween you need to perfect her signature greeting. This film actually had a big influence in my moving to the big bad city of NYC in the late '90s. Mary's club kid life was so cool and quirky‚ or so I thought. She couldn't pay rent, but she did what any style maven does and struggled in style. From party girl to librarian, Mary stomped around in blobby platforms, bold hats, animal prints and themed getups. This is an easy costume to recreate — just raid your and your friends' ten-year-old clothes. Throw in some updated razzle-dazzle, put on some Deee-Lite and you're party girl ready.

I just don't think that many people would get the reference - plus I already have my costume and it's gonna be awesome...

Weird, Nylon just did a page about this movie too. Was Dee lite on the soundtrack or something?
