This Week's Fab Favorite: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

A while ago I said I hated taupe. Times change. I especially thought it wasn't a flattering color on blondes. Put two adorably stylish blond twins in taupe together and you have this week's Fab favorite. Mary-Kate and Ashley have been about town(s) promoting their book Influence. This week they were autographing books at Borders in Brentwood, CA. As expected, they complement each other while maintaining their individual styles. But this time they taught me to love a color I once dismissed. That, is the power of the Olsen.Ashley, always the slightly sleeker, wore a leather mini, a dark sweater, and a lush taupe velvet jacket. I adore the jacket; it's slightly vampy, entirely luxe. Mary-Kate loosened up in a silky taupe utilitarian dress cinched with a bright red belt. She loaded on jewelry to add some boho flavor. Both went the exposed leg route, better to show off their edgy shoes. Ashley in the new YSL double platform shoe-to-have and Mary-Kate in Proenza Schouler cut-out booties. I wonder if they still play sisterly dress up and get ready together — looks like it!

To see more of the sisters in action, read more.

mary-kate and ashley look amazing here! i am really loving their looks. on the close up shot mk looks a little washed out, but i think it's because she went for a slightly darker lip and she was already wearing taupe. i love ashley's leather mini and that long velvet blazer. they have the best stuff. *sigh*

Love them both. I am considering buying the book based upon their outfits in this picture alone!

can't stand them, think it's so stupid and arrogant of them to write a book - they're only 22, and what have they done other than dress fashionably most of the time. how pretentious that these stupid girls with no talent think that they have had any "Influence" on the world whatsoever...

i would be very interested in seeing what they have to say in their book. they are both looking very nice. not all sickly and hungry like they normally do.

i think that these girls are able to overcome all the styles that we say we don't like - and yet they are also equally as able to come up with styles that we're not sure we want to like (yet we still talk about them)

i thought the book was about people who have Influenced them.. not who they have influenced.

i think they look great here. i prefer ashley's style but they both look good here

someone sounds bitter. despite what anyone says they had been acting since they were in diapers. staring in their own movies, inspiring young girls in an educational way (unlike that damned hannah montana cousin it looking thing)had their own line of clothing and makeup (still do) in walmarts everywhere and are now launching yet another high end fashion line. so to say they are talentless and have done nothing is moronic and ignorant. just sayin... anyway, the fact that they are writing a book at 22 is not arrogant... as megIn said : "...the book was about people who have Influenced them.. not who they have influenced."
