Payless Goes Upscale

Payless ShoeSource has been selling some surprisingly cute shoes lately. Now, it's jumping on the designer-fashions-for-less trend forged by Target and other stores. On Sept. 6, the discount shoe retailer will begin selling an exclusive line designed by Laura Poretzky, of the New York based sportswear line Abaete. Called Abaete for Payless and priced between $25 to $45, the shoes will be available online and at select Payless stores. I can't wait to get my feet in a pair.

Thanks to Kaciegrrl for the tip!

I'll bet they kill your feet. I love target and i shop there a lot, but I can't wear their shoes. Way too uncomfortable. I'm guessing these are the same way. IMO, good shoes are worth the money. I still think it's a great concept though.

Frickin' A. Payless and Target are my favorite places for shoes. Which reminds me, I don't own a pair of green sneakers yet....

Got to admit, I'm a payless person. Come on, who doesn't want to pay less?

I agree--I'm all about bargain shopping. The shoes just kill my feet! Maybe I'm just a wimp. I buy clothes and home decor stuff at Target all day long, I've just wasted too much money buying shoes that I wear only once b/c the pain is too much for me!

PayLess shoes may look reasonable but they aren't you only can wear those suckers for 2 weeks and they start falling apart. And they always, always, ALWAYS look CHEAP.

i used to think payless shoes last about two weeks also. but the other day i found a pair from the new abaete line at my local payless (really cute red flats with a black bow) that made me revise my opinion. they are leather (unusual for payless!), really cute, and most importantly very comfortable. plus they look like they are going to last a while. so i am willing to give the rest of these a try as well!
