On Our Radar: Cartier LoveCharity Bracelets

OMG I so want one of these! And I have a suspicion lots of you will too...To celebrate Cartier's second annual "LoveDay," the luxury goods company will announce its newest celebrity ambassadors for the Cartier "LoveCharity" bracelets. Last year, Cartier donated more than $1.2 million to eight global charities from the sales of the Love bracelet, and due to the enormous success, this year Cartier will celebrate with a new bracelet. Without further ado, here are the candy colored charity bracelets:

The new bracelet features an 18K white gold miniature bracelet graced with the word "Love" and accented with two signature screw motifs. It is set into a knotted silk cord available in various colors, with each cord designating support of a unique cause. The bracelet is $475 with $100 per bracelet benefiting its corresponding charity. Come June 8th, 10% of all sales from the collection will benefit the partnered organizations.

My faves are the blue bracelet, benefiting Sarah Jessica Parker for UNICEF, and the lavender bracelet, benefiting Julianne Moore for the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance - two of my favorite gals and two wonderful charities! Now here's a jewelry purchase you can justify!

With more colors and charities than I pictured here, the LoveCharity bracelets can be purchased at Cartier boutiques in the US & Canada and for more info visit Cartier.com.

They're only donating $100 out of the $475? That's steep. Cute bracelets though.

Don't make them 18k with silk. With that kind of price tag, and only donating $100 of it. Not right! Love to have one, but not that bad.

They are very cute, but how about they price them at $100, and give half to charity?? Too steep for me....

I could donate $100 to charity, then buy a cuter bracelet with MUCH less than the $375 Cartier is pocketing.

gee whiz! that's pretty expensive for something that looks like a pony tail holder. man, i would lose that thing so fast! good cause though. just think that a little more than $100 should go to the charity.

I've been wanting one of these since they first came out but at almost $500 it's a little steep for such a small amount of gold.

Methinks a larger percentage of the profit goes to Cartier, and far too little goes to charity. I'll pass!

I agree that the price is a little steep, especially when you can just donate directly to the charities.
However, the exposure that these charities are receiving is incredibly valuable. Specifically, the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance (Julianne Moore's) is an organization that is trying to bring awareness to the disease which causes tubers to grow on major organs leading to autism, seizures, kidney complications, etc. My 28 year old brother was born with the disease and suffers from every possible complication. He's severely mentally handicapped, suffers from grand mal seizures and has had over 25 surgeries. He is also one of the most loving and hilarious people you could ever meet.
Its a disease that is still very under-diagnosed and in great need of exposure. So, for that, I'm grateful to both Cartier and Julianne Moore.

legaleagle, thanks for telling us! i had never heard of that and you are right about how it brings these issues much needed attention.

my only wish is that it could be brought to the mainstream. so few people can afford this item, much less recognize the significance of the color and the bracelet. but good for them for doing this. every little bit helps! And even if we can't afford the bracelet, we could afford to look them up and donate what we can.

If they donated more, I'd be far more tempted to purchase one. Dissapointing! I'd rather just donate money directly.

Fabulous bracelets! I have the Trinity bracelet and am saving up for this one as well! Though Cartier keeps $375 for this, they are still donating quite a nice chunk of money towards these foundations as well as truly raising awareness.

If you bought a $1 bracelet, yes, one dollar would go towards the foundation, but if you buy this, it's $100! Completely agree- a bracelet worth justifying! Smiling
