SJP Bitten Update!

We've been getting lots of inquiries about when Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten Fall collection will be hitting Steve & Barry stores. Here's the latest! The Fall collection began trickling into stores August 10th and the full floor set should be in stores by September 15th. With every item still priced at $19.98 or less, you can visit Bitten's website for more information and Steve and Barry's website for store locations.

What's in store for Bitten come Fall? An expanded assortment of nearly 500 apparel items and accessories including classic outerwear styles in current silhouettes and wool and cashmere sweaters in a variety of styles and colors. I am most excited for outerwear from wool coats to hooded puffer jackets, a denim collection constructed of cotton denim produced in the same mills and finished with the same techniques as many premium brands, and, of course, an array of accessories including: handbags, jewelry, belts, hats, scarves, gloves and footwear. Bitten continues to rock on!

i visited a store this weekend and although the quality seemed good I wasn't that impressed with the selection. i guess this is why...it's not all there yet!

yeah, i wouldn't suggest buying anything from the Bitten line unless you've tried them on first. the sizes are definitely off.

I agree that the sizing is off but I'm happy with everything I own thus far and will certainly be back for more retail therapy.

I was so excited for the Bitten line, that I went to Steve and Barrys (which is in the Manhattan Mall - who knew?!?!) right away to check it out. I bought a few things, but the quality was really really really bad. Two of the dresses I bought shrunk in the wash 2 whole sizes - which is not normal for cotton. And the zipper broke on the tote bag that I bought. As in the teeth fell off.
I would rather pay a little bit more, and get the Target Go:Designer collections.

Hmmm, every item $19.85 or less... so when is somebody going to go and inspect those factories, because that stinks of exploitative labour to me!

Also, my friend sent me some Bitten stuff from the US and I'm wearing some of the undies right now. Very comfortable but first day out and the lace trim is coming away from the leg. Great!

i just baught some jeans off the bitten line. they're were only for $15.00. i really don't care if the fabric is bad, as a college student who is unemployed i can't be too picky about what i wear. i think i'll upgrade the clothing brads i buy when i have a stable full-time job.

Anyone know exactly when it all hits stores? I had read August 10th somewhere, but from what I've heard that was not the case!

And btw, I have a pair of jeans and a few tops from Bitten...everything has held up nicely in the wash after several wearings!

I bought one very cute shirt for around $8 but didn't see much else that blew me away. I tried on 2 pairs of Bitten pants and was very disappointed in the fit and sizing. And by the way, Bitten is WAY off with the sizing. Everything is very 'plain' and not very original, i.e.: t-shirts and chinos in every color and jeans, etc. No great prints or wonderful fitting items. I guess that's the trade-off for super affordable clothing! Verdict--mildly disappointed.

i was pleasantly surprised by the bitten line. i agree that the sizing is a little off, in the sense that i have different items in different sizes (primarily due to having a large chest). i ended up buying probably ten tops (tanks, baby doll tops, short sleeve tees), and all have held up fantastically in the wash. sure, they're not exactly new & exciting nor the freshest of ideas, but the stuff is cute and really it's how you put it all together, right? i wasn't as thrilled by the quality of the shoes, jewelry or handbags, which i think were a little more touch and go in terms of not looking so cheap. i am very excited to check out the bitten fall offerings. speaking of steve and barrys, has anyone purchased any of the amanda bynes items? i was so happy with the sjp stuff that i am anticipating checking out the dear line.

I have mixed feelings about this line. I got lots of t-shirts that are very soft cotton and they have been fine in the wash. I also have a pair of jeans that fits me great. The cargo pants I bought, however, are too big even though I tried them on. They stretch as the day goes on. The stuff is very basic, but there is nothing wrong with that. And yes the sizes are off, usually too big. I'm usually a 5-6 and I bought size 2 and 4 in this line.

I am obsessed with Bitten. If you are worried about quality, you definitely should not go looking for an entire outfit, it's all about mixing with designer or higher quality accesories, shoes, jeans, etc. I mix and match pieces with some of my more expensive clothes. I will wear one of the tees with my Joe's jeans and cute wedges, or throw on one of her cropped jackets with a cute sundress. And you can not find more adorable, and more affordable ballet flats than the Bitten line. I seriously want them in every color! If you like American apparel tees, or their turtlenecks for fall, I suggest trying Bitten. They are pretty close in quality, big variety of colors, and $8 vs. $32 at American Apparel!!

For the big busted ladies like me, the tops fit! They run a lil big, but they fit! I bought a button down top and a few tees. I tried on a dozen pants. NONE fit. I was bummed.
I also bought some cute jewelry dirt cheap. A beautiful pair of faux pave studs and a fleur delis necklace. I also got a really cute black and white headband.
I went back last week and didn't buy anything, but hey, every store is hit or miss Smiling

Oops, I definitely didn't read through the article! Guess I was right on the August 10th part though.

I can't wait to see the fall stuff for myself - I hope they have the cardigan that SJP wore at some of the launches she attended.

when she was on Oprah a few monthes ago she had so many other pieces that she was showing like a great black and white checkered tweed knee length coat that I never saw online or in the store. I wonder if it will be in her fall collection...

Bitten is so worth it. I also have to take about an hour ride up north just to go to the store. They have so much more, not just the SJP line. I can get alot of cool stuff for my 11 year son and still come out with money in my pockets.

Cute but for the price point they could have made better quality.
I'm just not seeing SJP as a fashion icon or innovator. Maybe it's just me, but I know that Gap, Forever 21 and Target all carry same/similar goods, somewhat better quality and same cost (or less in some cases).
I was hoping for better from her.

Sizing IS wacky--it varies from item to item for some reason. It is hit or miss. Some stuff I bought I love and get compliments on, and think is reasonable quality, but other items are not holding up as well. I'm 5'8 and bought sizes in t-shirts from xs to large, and in pants size 0-6. Some of the pants I could not get on (skinny zip jeans would not go over my calfs, and I have thin legs). They also sometimes just have only one extreme size, say a very cute shirt only in size xs, or xl, but no sizes in between. You really have to try everything on. Plus side is that Steve and Barry's has a ONE YEAR return policy!

The Bitten line is all about basics, not about flashy pieces. I love it! Like someone else said, it's all about mixing it into your wardrobe with other pieces you have. The quality is definitely there. It's better quality than you'd expect for the price. Is it the same quality as a couture suit? Um, no, but the price is also vastly different. I can't wait for the Fall line!

well because there is only one here in houston and so far off i would think the store would have been in the big major mall- galleria, but alsmost everything is sold out or in random sizes that i did not even bother to try on the clothes, i just stuck to the sunnies and jewelry. i agree for the price you get basics/classics- nothing trendy. as for the quality and sizes my mom likes her pieces that i bought her for her 49th bday and has not said anything about shrinkage or the pieces ripping apart on her. i wish they had a better site or way to order pieces at the store/online or something. i never saw half her summer line until i was on ebay and the prices have doubled almost tripled!
