Looks like taking on The Hills of Hollywood has paid off for Lauren Conrad: her dream of being a fashion designer is being realized before she even graduates from college!

This September, LC is launching a 10-piece capsule collection of contemporary clothing, The Lauren Conrad Collection, will be sold exclusively on ShopLaurenConrad.com. Assuming the success of this small collection, LC also has a 44 piece Spring collection of everything from tank tops, billowy tops, and white linen rompers to floor-length gowns, which she hopes to have in specialty and department stores. And yes, she is already promoting her brand, she wore her self-design to the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday - and you all seemed to fancy it!

For the resort-spring season, LC will also unveil a set of clutches and bags produced by Linea Pelle, including a $45 coin purse, a $145 clutch, and a $350 tote bag in colors like black, mahogany, and dark olive. Girl's been busy!

I'll be interested to see what she comes up with. From the pics here, it doesn't look like she's doing anything original - but I do think she has decent sense of style - so there's hope.

Also, If you check out the website (www.shoplaurenconrad.com) you can get on the mailing list.

oh nikkipez i'm not calling you crazy because i agree with you, i don't like her style or fashion sense; it's too blah and poor replicas of other (better) designers' work. to me i think she is taking her fame more seriously than fashion designing because believe me a real fashion designer would come up with something more creative and original. OR at least something that would stand out from the rest of the pack.

    NEXT!

You guys are sooo harsh. I think this is an admirable beginning for her. She seems genuinely interested in making this her career..she'd be dumb not to use her "fame"to launch it. I liked her outfit at the TCA's...I think they are basics but you can mix and match with accessories.

Typically when a designer is first starting out their lines aren't crazy and extravagant just yet because they want to get their name out there first. It isn't until designers get to a certain point that they start designing crazy unique dresses that look like peacocks. Lauren is only a beginner and shes just trying her hand at what she loves. All great designers make names for themselves FIRST before they venture into their own crazy out-of-the box designs. I think she rocks and has great style. Go Lauren

So for all of you that are calling her line"Plain" and "too simple" try looking up vera wang's first designs or even coco chanel's they both started off simple and then once they had established their company they started to get a little funky

This whole celebrities coming out with their own line thing is getting so old. I can't think of any celeb designers I'm crazy about. LC does have cute style...kind of blah but it's cute, but there are SOOOO many talented up and coming designers that would kill for those resources/fame. Omg side note I am now GOLD wooooo wooooo!

yes but kathleenxcouture even if coco chanel started off as "simple" her "simple" designs were out the ordinary or norm at the time WHICH than because of her innovative designs people took notice of her.

potentially underwhelming, but i'm still looking forward to following what LC does with this. seems like it might be a bit too costly, though. oh well - i like her, i'll support her! i would definitely like her to wow us at some point, which i think she could.

Love her line because it is simple and totally what she would wear. I loved her dress at the TCAs and she looked absolutely beautiful. I am a big fan of Lauren's because she goes after what she wants out of life.

i totally agree with KATHLEENxCOUTURE. c'mon guys, LC is what? like 21? at least she's trying her hand at something more realistic as a stepping stone for herself... unlike some people who want's to be a singer??? even when they don't have the voice for it. her line is very basic, and that's the point.. you start at the basic stuff before you venture into something more extravagant. MBLEM started as really blah before too, and now.... Mandy is making progress.. Paris' clothing line? i'm not impress.. too flashy and not everybody can pull those clothes off.. so, let's give LC a chance to prove herself. as you can see, i'm totally rooting for her!

I have actually seen at least 5-6 pieces of the collection and I think she did great for a beginner. It is basically LC style: half beach girl and have LA girl. I do not think that she is the next balenciaga but her collection reflects herstyle: SIMPLE CHIC. She does have some trends in her line but it is still classic. I plan on buying at least a few pieces. I am proud that she did not lend her name to someone else's work but she actually design the entire collection by herself. I dont think she is the next coco channel or even stella mccarthy... but I can see her being a Diane Von Furstenberg or Cynthia Vincent Rowley or Vera Wang. She was on Kimmel live wearing this long white dress from her collection and she looked stunning!

First and foremost, I have to agree that it's great that she's getting out there and trying her hand at something she really loves. And while the dress she wore to the TCA was super cute...I have to agree that from the other pictures we've seen it's all so safe and overdone. I'm so tired of bubble hems, and smocked tube dresses!!

She could have done something original and "wacky" for her first collection, and I think people would have taken it for what it was worth. I think now people will look at it and toss her up as a kid trying to get into the fashion industry.

    That's just mho though.

Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior were both designing before Coco Chanel and by the time she had begun to make a name for herself sure she was a little more advanced for her time but she still started off simple and made people wonder. That is exactly what LC is doing. I promise her next line will probably be more "trend-setting"

I did not go to the show, but I work for a particular buyer and I have been able to see some selective pieces. The prices wholesale is 25-100 (around that area). I was able to have a sneek at the collection and I think it is pretty good for someone just starting. This is her first collection, and believe me she designed it HERSELF. Unlike some other folks (well everybody else, except nikki hilton).

I think her clothes are casual chic. There is nothing extraordinary about them... but they are cute and stylish. She does use some trends but nothing like YSL. I think it is a collection for the average or more than average person. You can dress them down or up depending on accessories. I saw about 3 pieces that I plan on purchasing... some cute dresses that I can wear with jackets during the fall. Some you can use fancy belts (that is going to be the rage again this fall) and some really casual cute pieces like that white dress she wore on jimmy kimmel live last night.

I do think that this line has potential. I hope it does well so she can be a bit more daring for the next season.

It is hard to tell but she def seems to lean more on the vera wang, cynthia rowley side. Clothes that everyday women can wear.

its cool for what it is, but its not exactly fashion. For "Hills" fashion, I'd rather see what's up Whitney's sleeve! LC is so boring to me, and her style is like everyone else's around here (I live in Laguna Beach). BOR-RING

I don't know - just because you have a popular "reality" - and I use that term loosely- show doesn't mean that you should automatically have your own fashion line! I mean would she have gotten a line without the show - I think not. Personally, I like Whitney's style a lot better than Lauren's. Whitney really seems to have a genuine passion for fashion and it shows on The Hills. She always looks stylish and unique - LISTEN UP - WHITNEY SHOULD BE THE ONE W/ THE FASHION LINE. Not expecting much from Lauren at all.

Well Whitney did not go to school for design. She actually majored in gender studies. Secondly, have you guys seen some of whitney outfits? I will say she is more daring/bohamian than LC but some of her outfits are just astrocious.

I love Lauren. I hate Paris. This is not just a celeb line, fashion has been Lauren's desire forever. I count the days and I will buy most of the line. Lauren is Marilyn Monroe for this generation WITHOUT trying. She is a very humble girl. Look at that PIG Pairs. I love Lauren
