It's so Carrie!

You can't even see the dress she's wearing underneath! I thought she just threw on a frumpy oversized sweatshirt and paired it with nasty heels. no thanks.

I was just watching Clueless this weekend thinking about how I wished the thigh high socks would make a come back. They are a so hot! Love that Carrie is rocking them

I do love Carrie's style and that she is so brazen, however what kills me is that I have never thought that thigh-highs were ever attractive to wear. SJP is not fat, but they kind of give her a little roll.

OK...I wore some knee highs last fall / winter and I got a little bit of criticism for them. I think they look cute, and I'm glad I'm not totally off track with my clothes.

Oh my gosh so cute!

I bought a pair of thigh-highs on a whim on a recent trip to NYC. But I can't get them to stay up!! As I walk they wrinkly and kind of begin making their way down. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I can't get over the fact that she's using a pay phone!

SJP looks so much better as Carrie than as herself. She should take style notes from Pat Fields. And beauty notes from whoever is doing her hair and makeup on the film. This outfit is fabulous. Love, love, love it.

The shoes are redeemable, but someone should tell her that she forgot her pants. I had a nightmare like that once...

I think Patricia Field went a bit overboard with the gray trend.

Meh. I'm sorta underwhelmed by it all. I agree, coddswaddle, it would've looked better with some pants. Definitely nothing near as good as the white flower dress she wore a bit back.

pixelhaze - pull them right up then put an elastic band over the sock about an inch from the top of where the sock (not too tight but tight enough to hold them up), then fold the top of the sock down over the elastic band. If you would prefer not to show the fold on the outside, put the elastic band around your leg and fold the sock IN under the elastic band instead of rolling the sock out over the elastic (does that make sense?) - we used to do it at school.

I don't mind the socks and shoes, but I don't really like the top of the outfit.. It's a bit scruffy.
