Simply Fab: Spanx Bra-Llelujah

Bras are like good men: they're hard to come by, but once you find the one, you stick with it for life. Spanx's Bra-Llelujah ($34) can be a constant companion for you. Unlike sexy bras that aren't functional, this first-ever all-hosiery bra is super comfortable, has no wires, and provides full support. But that's not what sets it apart.

Practically all bra companies preach the above; what's different about the Bra-Llelujah is that it gets rid of VBL (Visible Bra Lines). You've already taken care of VPLs, so why stop there?

Provides full support? I don't think so. After hearing so many people rave, I gave on a try. Sure, no VBL, but there was no way I would ever go out in public wearing one -- I may as well have just been wearing a triangle bikini top. If you're an A/B I'm sure you can get away with it, but then again you don't need the support. Since I couldn't return it after the disappointing trial run, mine has been downgraded to just being worn around the house.. and only when paired with a shelf-bra tank top. Sorry busty gals, but this is not for you.

This bra is wonderfully comfortable and supportive - and resilient, considering it's all hosiery. What it is not is pretty - at all. I mean, ew. But I do believe that while there are occasions for putting form above function in the area of undergarments, more often than not, a piece like this that makes your outside clothes look great is worth its weight in gold!

No thanks. I'm a C and I require underwire folks. All hosiery bra just sounds icky to me.

Even if it did provide support, I can't imagine it would be very flattering. I don't mind underwires enough to switch.

This is a good weekend bra but it doesn't offer enough support. I understand you should buy a smaller size to help with that. I bought one three years ago and I still have it. I wear it occasionally -- again, only when I don't care about my figure/bustline. Not enough support!

I'm a C, too, and I need wires. What's wrong with wires? I don't feel them, and they're wonderful support.

Besides, to me, that hosery bra looks unattractive. My sport bras look better than those.

Most bra makers already supply seamless bras that are invisible under clothing while providing adequate or even total support using underwires or foam cups. The best way to avoid VBLs is to get a seamless bra in the proper size. You wouldn't believe how many women wear the wrong size bra.

Its a lot more worthwhile to go to a specialized shop and getting fitted than just buying this at the department store based on Oprah's recommendation.

I hear the busty girls, I hear ya knockin loud and clear, but everywhere I look there's new bra lines for fuller figured gals. I'm on the other end of a spectrum, a 32, but not even an A cup. It's next to impossible for me to find a real bra, and I live most of my life in sports bras, tank tops, even girls training bras. Bra shopping normally disappoints me since I can't wear what the "big girls" wear. But I bought a bra-lelluiah and it fits comfortably, I don't feel like I'm swimming in it, and it offers good support and pointy coverage for an everyday bra. Great solution for me! Love it!

D cup here, can't get this. Besides, most of the bras I buy are seamless anyway.

D cup requires wires and über-support! Hosiery will not do ANYTHING! I shall leave this to those who are fortunate enough to have relatively normal-sized breasts!

Also, what they say about the fact that it's wireless making it "airport-friendly" is rubbish! I've been through some of the highest-security airports in the world (Heathrow, anyone?) in my trusty VS push-up bras (definite underwire!) and never once set off the detectors!!!

I may have to try one out but b/c I have small boobs it may not work for me. I need some padding!
