I think the red is a little harsh against the white pieces. I would have worn a shorter jacket, as Fab suggested, but probably in navy. She should definitely wear some pumps - what's with going barefoot? Maybe a long necklace with a cute pendant as well. Oh, and a little beret. She's had better haircuts...

Definitely shorter jacket with more shape, and the ivory is not bad, but I think maybe a richer shade would work better with a red coat.

Definitely black patent shoes, something with a pointy toe... I'm almost always a fan of a pointy-toed slingback. If she needed to wear the big drapey coat, the layers under it need to be slim and not shiny.

She's definitely come a long way, and I'd rather see this than a see through minidress or her vajayjay exposed for all the world to see.

I agree that the coat is the major issue here. Bad colour, bad cut, bad figure. You can tell she's a girl with a nice figure so she is young enough to show it off. She doesn't need to wear such loose clothing. She really is a Glam Ma.

What I don't get is why they got all dressed up to leave a hotel? And then not be botherd with combing your hair. I find their whole union extremely peculiar.

The coat just doesn't go with the pants. Floaty pants + floaty jacket = too much. White trousers scream summer to me. I'd belt and shorten the coat - the fabric is gorgeous but the cut doesn't work. If she insisted on wearing it as is, I'd go with an ivory pencil skirt instead of the trousers. Shoe-wise, probably silver pointy-toed heels.

I think she is gutsy with her fashion. Scientists,iconic fashions,artists succeed because of all their up and down experimentations. Other actresses their impact and changes are not as awestruck as Katie's evolution.

I even think her mature and sexy look will be hotness overload if she didnt leave the Batman sequel.She would be puuurfect with Bale enough to make Cruise nervous.(teeheee)

You might be able to pull it off with a black short sleek dress under it (leaving the coat open) But really this is just so not cute.

I would wear a shorter coat as well - I'd rather have it be a deeper, richer red if I was going to wear a colored trench. Definitely black pants or even dark wash jeans, black pumps or boots, a black v-neck or simple scoop/crew and a great bag in a gold or silver or a contrasting color.
However, with a shorter coat, I think she could wear the white trousers (if she's going for a sort of white wintery look) if she wore a better pair of shoes - I like SensitiveKim's idea of silver pumps or some great neutral (beige, taupe, bone) boots. Keep the outfit simple and the focus on a great coat with some fun accessories. I don't feel like anything about this outfit pops or is interesting - it just looks sloppy and too big for her.
