In celebration of the newly renovated Mango flagship in SoHo, Monica Cruz hosted a fete filled with beautiful clothes and lovely party-goers. Solange Knowles performed for giddy guests Marc Jacobs, Dakota Johnson Griffith, and Ashley Olsen, to name a few. You can tell from the pictures — check out Genevieve Jones and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld in a chummy hug — everyone had a blast. Looks like some of the party animals should have remembered to pack their morning-after clothes.

A while ago I said I hated taupe. Times change. I especially thought it wasn't a flattering color on blondes. Put two adorably stylish blond twins in taupe together and you have this week's Fab favorite. Mary-Kate and Ashley have been about town(s) promoting their book Influence. This week they were autographing books at Borders in Brentwood, CA. As expected, they complement each other while maintaining their individual styles. But this time they taught me to love a color I once dismissed. That, is the power of the Olsen.Ashley, always the slightly sleeker, wore a leather mini, a dark sweater, and a lush taupe velvet jacket. I adore the jacket; it's slightly vampy, entirely luxe. Mary-Kate loosened up in a silky taupe utilitarian dress cinched with a bright red belt. She loaded on jewelry to add some boho flavor. Both went the exposed leg route, better to show off their edgy shoes. Ashley in the new YSL double platform shoe-to-have and Mary-Kate in Proenza Schouler cut-out booties. I wonder if they still play sisterly dress up and get ready together — looks like it!

Always one to represent her clothing lines, Ashley wore an LBD and black blazer from The Row. I love that the blazer is slightly longer than the dress. Another scene-stealer are her pointy velvet pumps. Chic all around.

Freaky or Fabulous? PETA Protests the Olsen Book Signing

In fact, members of the organization stood in front of Barnes & Noble in New York City's Union Square yesterday to protest the girls' book, Influence. Who can you scribe has influenced you? The more I think about it, the more people I could pay tribute to. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen looked understated stellar at Barnes and Noble promoting their book, Influence. We can't wait to learn all about who influenced the sisters, but we've already been influenced by their style, and business, prowess. No Olsen is complete without towering heels. Other than Mary-Kate's black double platform Yves Saint Laurent pumps, she chose a professional LBD. Bare legs do her justice and tousled hair is pretty and easy. Ashley stepped it up in gray suede platforms, The Row liquid leggings, and a silky white double pocket blouse. Both Olsens have influenced me, what about you? Source

The Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James collection will consist of over 80 gold and silver pieces. Staying true to their unique style (see Mary-Kate's little bedecked hands below), look forward to seeing abstract earrings, necklaces, metal cuffs, and rings embellished with crosses and daggers along with beading.

Commenting on the collaborative collection, Ashley states, "We liked the idea of having playful elements along with timeless and ageless pieces. The symbols are attachable and you can take the jewelry and make it your own. There are solid silver and gold pieces to wear forever and comfort pieces that you'll put on and wear everywhere."

The pieces will retail from $65 to $700, and be sold at Intermix stores nationwide, Holt Renfrew, Lane Crawford, and On Pedder. The dynamic duo have also hinted to an upcoming shoe and bag collection. The suspense is killing me.

Ashley first wore it at an amFAR event back in January, with barely any accessories. Underneath it, she wore a white, silk floor-length dress that covers her shoes. Margherita opted for a little more dazzle when she wore the vest at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. The dress she paired it with is also white with small pink dots, and her oversized clutch is metallic gray. She also threw on bangles, earrings, and a necklace. There are only a few things that can make me literally drop everything I'm doing and one of them is anything Olsen related. As with any project that Mary-Kate and Ashley undertake, their newest line is a fusion of gritty and girlie. Just what the Olsens ordered. Draped dresses are paired with sheer tights, menswear suits are prettied with tie-neck blouses, and tulip skirts are toughened up with black tees. The theme this time around is rock 'n' roll. Ah to be an Olsen twin . . . the money, the fame, and being able to root around in your sister's cavernous closet. Mary-Kate did just that at the premiere of 21 with this black Calvin Klein satin romper that Ash wore back in 2005. Mary-Kate, of course, put her own twist on it with a bold hot pink belt and her oversized (well, could just look that way on her) Miu Miu tie dye clutch. Ashley might mix it up a bit more if she wore it again, but back then she went with some peep toe d'orsays and some beachy hair. Fab Flash: Ashley O. Peddles The Row

Late last week, Ashley Olsen made an appearance at a Dallas boutique to promote her designer collection, The Row, wearing a cashmere tunic and black leather leggings from the line.

Since Spring 2007, when the collection debuted with 18 knits, production has expanded to 110 looks for Fall 2008, including a $4,500 natural kangaroo coat and a $4,000 seamed black leather poncho with raw edges.

"What it always comes down to is simple, clean lines and beautiful fabrics," Ashley said. "The whole collection is based on fit and quality." She also mentioned that everything is made in the US, with the exception of cashmere knits, to maintain tight quality control.

Ashley is on hiatus from New York University to focus all of her attention on the label, taking the leading role so Mary-Kate can focus on her acting career. As Rae Miles, The Row's commercial director stated, "Ashley is there full time, every day. She's in all the fittings, picking all the fabrics and making the final decisions." Sounds like devotion!

Wow, so many of you are smitten with Rachel Bilson's sidewalk style. The girl is consistently cute in boots and scarves, but that's just the problem for me — she's too consistent and not spontaneous enough sometimes. Petite fashion-maven Ashley Olsen, on the other hand, always spices things up with chunky heels and funky accessories. She has this unique ability to take a tired trend like leggings and make it look chic and new. So it should come as no surprise that Ashley gets my vote for Best Sidewalk Style for 2007!

Compare & Contrast: The Olsens vs. The Trainas

Can it be that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have some fashion competition? Danielle Steel's daughters, Victoria and Vanessa Traina, are in the same social circles the Olsens are, and they have equally amazing wardrobes to match their jetsetter lifestyle. Basically, the Trainas are taller versions of the Olsens. Everything else — style, attitudes, famous friends — are pretty much the same. Let's compare and contrast . . .

The Olsens: Mary-Kate and Ashley's avant-garde wardrobes are one of the most coveted in the fashion world.

Style: Though very different from one another, both MK and Ashley have a fashion sense that is uniquely their own. MK takes more risks, while Ashley is more clean cut and chic. What they do share is their love for leather, fur, ruffles, turbans, dramatic heels, and all black.

Attitude: When is the last time you saw them smile really big? I can't remember either. The petite sisters are serious but not pompous.

Famous Friends: Among the long list of designer and celeb pals are Jenni Kayne, Selma Blair, Giambattista Valli, Christian Louboutin, Calvin Klein, and of course, the Traina sisters.

The Trainas: Sisters Victoria (left) and Vanessa (right) are the socialites of the century with closets full of unique designer duds and edgy accessories.

Style: Like the Olsens, the Traina sisters don't have much color in their closets. What they do have a lot of are simple and one-of-a-kind party frocks. Victoria's slick style is comparable to Ashley's, and Vanessa's disheveled vibe is similar to MK's.

Attitude: They too rarely smile in public. Instead, they're cordial and reserved.

Famous Friends: Ever the social butterflies, Vanessa and Victoria's social circle includes Jenni Kayne, Nicole Richie, Tom Ford, Rachel Zoe, Brandon Davis, Vanessa Getty, and of course, the Olsens.

Are You Over Scarves?

I know it's only December but is it the attack of the scarves or what? Don't misunderstand me — I love and wear scarves often, but it seems like too many celebrities are wearing them all the time and during inappropriate situations, like on the red carpet and in scorching weather. Lindsay Lohan, has not only been loyal to her leggings since her return to LA, she's also been drowning in lengthy scarves. And we can't forget the leopard scarf epidemic that infected Kate Moss, SJP, and Ashley Olsen. I think scarves are a great way to accessorize a drab outfit, but I'm not for all scarves all the time, everywhere. What do you think? Are you over scarves?

There's a major difference between red carpet style and sidewalk style: Celebrities are pretty much on their own when it comes to the streets. These five ladies, Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, Ashley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan, and Rachel Bilson, all took their unique styles to the sidewalks, showing the world what they, not their stylists, are capable of. Katherine mainly showed us girly casual pieces, Kate did fabulous outerwear, Ashley stuck to avant-garde, Lindsay kept it trendy, and Rachel stayed loyal to her scarves and boots. The site features games, videos, merchandise, and you can even take action by sending the Olsens a letter. This is an aggressive attack on PETA's part — do you think they've gone too far this time?
