A Chocolate Bar That Helps Clear Your Complexion?

Attention all choc-o-holics! Could it be true that a chocolate bar can actually help to clear your complexion? Believe it or not, the masters behind the Borba Clarifying Anti-Blemish Chocolate Bar, $8, claim their Swiss, dark chocolate bar is formulated to remove toxins, prevent breakouts and reduce irritation and redness on your face.

Scott Vincent Borba, of BORBA Nutracueticals, and Kristy Choo of Jin Patisserie, have joined forces to challenge the oldest chocolate related fallacy known to man.

This petite bar of chocolate is made with extracts from the Acai berry, green tea and biogenic Vitamin C to help strengthen your capillary walls as well as restore radiance to your skin. Lastly, the special cultivated bio-vitamin complex also found in the bar helps your skin cells regenerate more rapidly.

In a recent study, 52% of the sample group who ingested this chocolate bar regularly over a 28 day period reported their breakouts were significantly reduced. I can hardly believe that chocolate could be the answer to my breakouts. This is revolutionary!

Ever since that chocolate fashion show the other day, I've been having a serious sweets craving. But while it may not be practical to clothe yourself in chocolate, you can easily incorporate it into your beauty routine. Especially with the holidays approaching, there are tons of great chocolate-scented beauty products to make you irresistible from head-to-toe. Here are some of my yummiest finds.

Sweet Chocolate Couture

Two of girls' best friends—in this case, chocolate and fashion—collided at the 9th Annual Chocolate Show, held last Thursday in New York City. Some of the designs were absolutely gorgeous, like the Willy Wonka-inspired masterpiece and vampiric design above. Others, meanwhile, were totally gross—notably, the model with strips of chocolate running down her legs. For the fashion portion of this choco-centric event, top pastry and confection chefs worked with fashion designers, including Rebecca Taylor, Abaete, and Heatherette, to create the over-the-top and edible clothes. Not exactly wearable couture, but this looks like a really fun event all the same. To see the photos from the show,

With mentions in InStyle, boutiques in London and New York, and a fanatical devotion to style and craft, Pierre Marcolini Chocolatier is the fashion designer of the confectionery world. As a chocolate lover, I'm not hard to please, but Marcolini's truffles—which I was lucky enough to taste the other night—are the most decadent and delicious chocolates I've ever known. (I highly recommend the powdered-sugar truffle in particular.) Plus, the sleek packaging and seasonal collections make these chocolates a FABulous gift for fashion and chocolate fanatics alike. You can buy the heavenly morsels of sophistication here.
