As we ease into chilly months, layering is your best friend. Sometimes I wear sweaters over my Summery dresses, but rarely have I worn them under — it's time to give that a whirl. Kate's fit is a bit baggy for my taste, but her crimson red pumps prevent this look from being old-fashioned. And with James on her arm she'll always look good.

We already learned that Fergie and Liv Tyler are attending as guests of Calvin Klein, and Tilda Swinton is accompanying Prada, but as the Costume Institute gala fast approaches on May 5, more details have leaked.

Giorgio Armani is said to be dressing Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, and Katie Holmes, but it doesn't stop there. Rumor has it that Jennifer Lopez is coming with Alberta Ferretti, Kate Bosworth with Chanel, and Eva Mendes and Rachel Bilson are also attending with Calvin Klein.

They haven't been connected to specific designers yet, but other expected attendees include Renée Zellweger, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Moss, Mary J. Blige, Claire Danes, Mischa Barton, LeBron James, as well as designers Valentino, Tom Ford, Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana, and Donatella Versace.

It all started last year with the quest for a handbag that goes with everything.

Tired of coming up short, native New Yorker Michelle Vale created her eponymous line of handbags with interchangeable hardware. Each bag comes with straps that can be swapped out, so, your options — wear the bag like a clutch or slung over the shoulder with a gold or silver strap.

While functionality is always a plus, Michelle also believes that practical doesn't have to mean plain. The line may still be young, but Cameron Diaz carries the Mushroom Jete clutch (left, $595) in her upcoming movie What Happens in Vegas and Kate Bosworth was spotted with the Entrechat ($895) on her birthday. More spottings are to come, I'm sure . . . maybe even as close to home as slung over my shoulder.

Being the celebrity clone-finder that I am, I have a fresh bunch of celebrity clones for you. First up, model Lisa Cant and actress Alexis Bledel. The similarity in their big, round baby blue eyes is undeniable, as is their rounded facial structure and fair skin. What's more, they're both delicate and doll-like. They can easily pass as sisters. If that were the case, Alexis would be the older one at 26, and Lisa would be the younger at 23. That's crazy because Alexis' baby face could have fooled me to think she's in her teens.

Is it moi or are more and more celebs dressing alike lately? That's not so strange. What is weird is when they wear the same dress to the same event! Both Kate Bosworth and Thandie Newton donned Preen's pink dress at the Toronto Film Festival. Um, someone needs to have a talk with their stylists, especially since this is such a loud dress. Kate Bosworth looks very Proenza as she heads out from Sur restaurant on Robertson Blvd. I gotta say, I like her because she consistently looks good. She never takes my breath away but she also doesn't make me cringe. I adore her Chloe Heloise bag and how she spiced up a simple strapless dress with a white tank!

Even though she wore them mid-Summer in New York, they are also perfect for any place this Fall. Chloe shoes are currently out of my budget but a cheaper version is here to my rescue...
