Who, what, where (or wear)? These are the questions people had running through their heads when the Spring Fashion Weeks were in effect. We were mostly focusing on the clothes rather than who dominated the front rows, but let us also dissect the guests. Editors, celebrities, and models get invited to the shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. One lady who always looked amazing was Carine Roitfeld. Here, at the Yves Saint Laurent show in Paris, the Vogue Paris editor gave new meaning to the term power suit. The serious glare also helps. There are stars and then there are shining stars. At the 2008 Venice Film Festival, a slew of actresses and models flew overseas to attend, but only a handful shined. There were plenty of arenas to flaunt their fashions — movie premieres, photocalls, parties — and the likes of Charlize Theron and Natalie Portman went all out. The screening of Valentino: The Last Emperor especially brought out a stylish crop. Enter the Venician red carpet.

Natalie Portman totally wowed me in this origami-pleat asymmetrical white Givenchy frock at the amFAR event at the Cannes Film Festival. The layers upon layers of white waves are gorgeous, and I love how she paired the dress with simple accessories and black sandals — just let the dress do all the talking. Talk about poor planning. Actresses Kristin Scott Thomas and Natalie Portman both showed up to the 2008 Cannes Film Festival in blue Lanvin dresses. It's bad enough that they're both wearing the same designer to the same premiere, but throw on top of it the fact that they're the same shade of blue. Longtime vegan Natalie, who until now only wore shoes from Target or Stella McCartney, has finally found a way to expand her collection.

As I revealed a couple weeks ago, she designed a cruelty-free line of shoes with retailer Té Casan. One hundred percent of the proceeds are set to benefit The Nature Conservancy, and the shoes can be ordered from TeCasan.com starting Tuesday, Jan. 15!

The chic handbags, shoes and frocks in Yves Saint Laurent's 57th Street Paris boutique were not alone last night. Stars like Natalie Portman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Elijah Wood, Catalina Sandina Moreno, all in the upcoming movie, "Paris Je t'aime," gathered at the store for a soiree to celebrate the opening of the flick, which is now showing in the Paris Theatre. I must say, Natalie Portman looks so much like the actress she is always compared to: Audrey Hepburn. So ladylike yet modern!

It was said that a portion of the proceeds from sales of the YSL Downtown Totes, $1,095, will go to the Anthology Film Archives.
