On Tuesday night, Project Runway Season Four winner Christian Siriano celebrated his 23rd birthday. But he didn't have to plan anything; it was a surprise! The place was Citrine in New York City. The fabulous guest list included Leigh Lezark, who was also the night's DJ, actress Leven Rambin, and American's Next Top Model alum Kim Stolz. An interesting mix, right? That about sums up the adorably charismatic Christian. From the looks of it, the birthday boy had a blast and then some. Posing with his birthday cupcakes, clapping, kissing his guests — yeah, that sounds like Christian. Welcome to the party.

After last night's Project Runway season five, you and I probably went to bed, but the contestants partied the night away. The likes of Jerell, Korto, the Duff sisters, and Project Runway alums Jeffrey Sebelia and Santino Rice showed up at STK restaurant in LA to celebrate five seasons of fabulous. Other celebs in attendance were Ricki Lake, Christine Lakin, and Rick Shroder. Drinks and food were aplenty, as were music and schmoozing. But where were Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, and the latest winner Leanne? Probably resting up after a chaotic season. I can't say I blame them, but the party must go on . . .

Congratulations . . . Leanne Marshall! The Project Runway Season Five Winner

Some of you restrained yourselves when I shared the final Project Runway collections in September. Then, it was still six designers in the running, so I witnessed final collections by Joe, Jerell, Suede, Kenley, Korto, and Leanne. I still don't understand why this isn't planned better. I firmly believe only the final three should show at the tents. Plus, it's a waste of money. Anyway, another Project Runway has come and gone and now you can view them all! And, you can buy them all! While we await the decision on the future of next season, I want to share what I then observed about the winner's collection. I'm not one to toot my own horn, but I had a feeling Leanne would win. Last night, Kenley's collection wowed me over once again and for a second I thought she might win. Alas, a bad attitude and unoriginality spoiled Kenley's chance.

Here's what I thought about Leanne's collection right after I saw it — nothing has changed. It was fresh, innovative, and gorgeous.

Funny how the six collections gradually got better. I think Leanne is going to win. Her collection was as stellar as any of the professional collections from the week. It was conceptual, beautiful, and theatrical. Leanne claimed she "lost a million hours of sleep" over it, and it showed. Sculptural skirts, dresses, and gowns floated down the runway to the beat of a neutral, cool palette. The craftsmanship was expert and you could just feel the adoration in the air. I would wear the ivory off-shoulder top and turquoise petal skirt and the ivory and beige corset mini dress in a heartbeat. And her modern wedding dress blew Suede's off the (project) runway.

This season, Project Runway is offering up the original pieces shown in Bryant Park in an exclusive online auction at ProjectRunway.com. Items from the auf'ed final contestants, Jerell, Suede, and Joe, are currently up for auction while the pieces from the three finalists, Kenley, Leanne, and Korto, will post immediately following the season finale tonight at 7 p.m. PST.

The auctions from the three final contestants will last for one week. I like to swoop in on the bidding war during the last couple seconds, but do as you will. Too expensive for your taste? Although Korto and Kenley are both wonderful talents, Leanne brings structure and lightness together in a way too incredible to deny. Throughout the season she was dead on and her flawless finale at Bryant Park was no exception.

Spoiler alert! The last episodes of Project Runway gave a glimpse into the real lives of the finalists. Tim pays visits to their hometowns, where they've been working on their final collections for a month. Learning the roots of the designers is cool; seeing their work spaces, their surroundings, their family, their friends. And Tim really shines as their mentor. Aw. The challenge was to create a wedding dress — oh, and a last-minute bridesmaid dress — and the results were eye opening. It really showed who had a vision. I was a bit disappointed in Korto's — does any woman want to wear beige on her wedding day? — and was blown away by Leanne's. Kenley got the quick insult of her dress resembling Alexander McQueen's Fall collection (it's so true). And Jerell's adorned gown missed the mark. It's crunch time people. The Heat Is On Project Runway

Is it me or was last night's episode of Project Runway intense? Emotions are running high, as they normally do this close to the finale show. I liked the challenge — I love the New York Botanical Gardens (if you haven't been, go) — and the idea of creating evening gowns out of flora. Sounds easy right? You would think. But all the designers struggled with this one and didn't produce fabulous flowerful designs. I think guest judge Georgina Chapman, of Marchesa, was disappointed. Alas, next stop: Bryant Park!

Fab Flash: The Battle Over Project Runway Continues

The drama continues: Bravo and Lifetime are still fighting over Project Runway. The Weinstein Co. has filed an appeal after a judge ruling in NBC's favor blocking the show's move from Bravo to Lifetime.

“Obviously we will be appealing and remain committed to our partners,” said the company.

As the companies battle it out, everything will remain the same and season six filming continues — with its home to be determined.

NBC Universal, who was ordered to pay a $20 million bond, and The Weinstein Co. are due back in court Oct. 15 to (finally) settle the matter. With everything up in the air, we can't but wonder if Nina Garcia and Marie Claire will still be part of the show. Hopefully, everything will be resolved before the sixth season airs.

Last night's episode of Project Runway left me loving someone a little more (Leanne) and despising someone a little more (Kenley). When the designers found out they were outfitting each other there were mixed emotions, but when they had to do it according to a musical genre (random) they were intrigued — for the most part. Some took it and ran with it, and even got into character on the runway. And one complained and even insulted mentor Tim Gunn. Annoyances aside, I'm happy about the winner, and the loser. Project Runway Gets Girls (Women!) Ready For the Real World

Last night's episode of Project Runway lacked pizazz. I think we're at that dwindling point where we just want the remaining true talents to shine. It's time to weed out the wannabees. Am I being too harsh? This is fashion people! The remaining six had to create outfits for women who had recently graduated from college, preparing them for the real world and with mom's approval. Most mother-daughter duos and designers got along, and the designs proved to be pretty run-of-the-mill — nothing fabulously atypical. Maybe they were saving their energy for the finale runway show. Before the season five contestants showed their collections, it was a reunion among familiar faces. It's always a joy seeing Runway alumni gather and mingle.

While this season's winner is still to be determined, Project Runway alumnus Christian Siriano has since moved on to show his debut collection at New York Fashion Week. Simply put, Siriano did not disappoint. The boy genius pulled out all the stops turning his gift of ruffling, tufting, and ruching into a romantically hip collection.White cotton blouses were embellished with ornate sleeves while neon colors splashed off hues of gray. Thanks to Siriano's ornate folding technique, stiff organza magically turned into elaborate dresses and structured sheer blouses. I especially fancied the ankle skimming pants and liquid silk tops. In the words of Heidi Klum, “Not too many from the show actually pull off a Fashion Week show, and he did.”

The Project Runway Season Five Finale Runway Show!

The grand finale of my Fashion Week was the Project Runway finale show. And what a show it was. Before the season five contestants showed their collections, it was a reunion among familiar faces. It's always a joy seeing Runway alumni gather and mingle. The recently booted Blayne and Terri were there — all smiles — and favorites like Jay, Rami, Jillian (wearing a familiar knit sweater from her collection), Chris March, and Jack Mackenroth (who I chatted with at the Jill Stuart show, he is so sweet) all made cameos. Enter Christian Siriano, who had his own Spring show the night before. Then, Michelle Tractenberg, Rachel Zoe, and Harvey Weinstein were chatting about. Quite the spectacle!Anticipation grew once Heidi, Nina, and Michael Kors all came out to welcoming applause. Side note: Are Heidi and Nina both wearing Roland Mouret dresses? They looked great, but I wonder if that was planned. At 9:30 a.m. the lights dimmed and Heidi appeared, microphone in hand. She said some heartfelt words to the people of Bravo and the Magic Elves (the show's producers) — saying goodbye and thanking them for five great seasons. To bring you up to speed, Runway is moving to Lifetime for their sixth season (and that will be interesting in itself).

The guest judge seat remained empty. All week long there had been rumblings about Jennifer Lopez being the guest judge, but it was anticlimactic when Heidi announced that Lopez was unable to due to "a foot injury." Boo. And so, Tim Gunn stepped in at the last minute to serve as guest judge. Don't get me wrong — I adore Gunn — but it was very exciting when Victoria Beckham graced us with her presence last time. Once all was said and done, the first collection, by Jerell, was unveiled . . .

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, especially when it comes to couture. In last night's episode of Project Runway, the designers were asked to create a couture garment that reflected an astrological sign. While others were scolded for their tacky pieces, Leanne, Jerell, and Joe scored high on the judges card for their creative designs. Leanne's scorpion-inspired dress was dark and lovely; Jerell took a huge risk using interesting fabrics; and Joe's ram-inspired dress was well interpreted. Which one was your favorite?Source

The pressure was on during last night's episode of Project Runway. The queen bee of prints and wrap dresses, Diane von Furstenberg, was present to rate the runway and give one lucky competitor an opportunity of a lifetime. The designers were asked to create a look for the fashion legend using reference from her Fall line. Some designs were on point — take a lookie at Leanne's royal blue ruffled frock seen left — and others, well, not so much. See all of their hard work and tell me which is your favorite.

Fab Flash: Tara Subkoff Takes FORM

"Karmic and cosmic" is how Tara Subkoff describes her new position as the artistic director of FORM's Spring '09 collection.

FORM founder Jerry Tam, the first one ousted from this season of Project Runway, had ties with Subkoff in the past as her intern at Imitation of Christ. "It's so great to be able to support one of my first interns at such a crucial time," said Subkoff.

Despite FORM's angular past, the new designs are said to encompass softer lines that were inspired by the Rococo movement using gauze, cottons, and silks. The collection will debut during the upcoming New York Fashion Week.

I'm just gonna put it out there: Spoiler alert! Most of the creations from last night's Project Runway turned out better than I thought. Another pleasant surprise was who was auf'd. Keith has increasingly demonstrated questionable design skills and, as was pointed out last night, has increasingly demonstrated attitude. I knew it was coming sooner or later, although this should have happened last week when he sent a nonplussed drag queen look down the runway. Oh! And the guest judge, none other than Rachel Zoe, whom we've been revealing all sorts of juicy tidbits about leading up to her Bravo show, The Rachel Zoe Project. Zoe was nice and approachable compared to Nina Garcia stand-in Laura Bennett (who also instantly seemed to dislike Keith). Bad vibes man. Meanwhile, Zoe had a fondness for Korto's seatbelted dress coat; it was superb, but not Korto's best. Congrats to the winner, and the loser. Where you happy to see Keith go?

I'll take designing for drag queens over WWE divas any day. The designers got their chance at over-the-top and I'm satisfied that most of them lived up to the challenge. It's always a joy to be in the presence of season four alum Chris March and the queens were delightful — such personalities. There is definitely a lot of creativity in this group and this challenge set it free. However, once again I disagree with the winner. I'll spare you any spoilers because the eye candy is just too good . . . viva la drag!

Do You Agree With the Project Runway Judges' Decision Last Night?

For the first time in this season of Project Runway, I completely disagree with the judges' decision. Sorry, Nina! The challenge was to create a day-to-night look for Brooke Shields's character on Lipstick Jungle — really cool. Sophisticated, bohemian, and sharp was what I envisioned. Seeing the team dynamics is always entertaining, but the results were polarizing. After the models walked, I knew who the bottom and top looks were. Spoiler on its way . . . I did not expect Kelli to get sent home for an overly-sexy look while Blayne stayed for his tousled styling and gray Bermuda shorts; after Heidi said it looked like someone who had gotten dressed in the dark without a mirror, I thought the decision was made. So yeah, I totally thought Blayne should have gotten the ax. Maybe I'm alone here, you tell me?

Who's excited for the Olympics?! I am. And after last night's episode of Project Runway I am even more excited. Fashion and the Olympics do mix. And it's always nice to see Olympian Apollo smile. Last night's episode was the best thus far; it was very entertaining with Blayne's "tanorexia," Kenley's giggle attacks, and Jerrell's commentary. Sillies aside, I thought the winning three looks were all stellar. I'm starting to really like the winner — no spoilers here! — so I was hoping (s)he would win, but all three were impressive. But, if you were the guest judge, which all-American look would you have chosen as the most Fab? Source

Terri's Lauren Hutton-esque look was adorable and so versatile.

Joe's super-athletic look was all about Team USA, and I dug the skort!

Korto's modern look was the best; the white leather and linen were great fabrics choices.

Last night's episode of Project Runway showcased a wide and interesting array of creations from the budding designers. Like season two, the contestants were asked to design an outfit for a night out on the town inspired by the (wet) cityscape of NYC. Double Take: Yves Saint Laurent and Austin Scarlett

I've long thought that Project Runway alum Austin Scarlett and the late Yves Saint Laurent share an uncanny resemblance to one another. Granted, the 27-year-old Austin resembles a 38-year-old Yves in 1974, but one can't deny the physical similarities. They're both tall, lean, have square jaw lines, wear oversize square glasses, and have thin lips and golden hair. Oh, and both are fashion designers, but clearly their likeness doesn't go beyond the physical. I doubt anyone's talent, including Austin's, will be comparable to that of genius Yves — but you never know, right? It's nice to know we have someone to remind us of the dapper lad from Algeria who roamed and fashioned the streets of Paris in the '70s.

Was It a Good Idea For the Models to Buy Fabrics on Behalf of the Designers?

For the first time in Project Runway history, the designers were not allowed to purchase their own fabrics. Gasp! Instead, the models they picked at the start of the episode did the shopping for them. And they weren't allowed to buy just any fabric; it had to be environmentally friendly. While some designers were impressed by their models' selections, others were stumped and unable to use most of what was in front of them. Of course, in the end, all the models had something to wear, and guest judge Natalie Portman was quite complimentary to some designers. But what do you think? Fab Flash: Bravo Replaces Project Runway With New Shows

Running on its last season with Project Runway, Bravo has made plans to fill in their huge prime-time slot.

The network is currently working on a new fashion series dubbed Fashion House. The show will feature designers living and working together as they strive to create and sell their collections to commercial buyers. The winning team will have the opportunity to have its line produced for mass-market sale. Unlike Project Runway, where outside-the-box designs were one of the most important factors in winning, Fashion House focuses more on the business aspect in fashion and mass-market appeal.

The network is also working with Sarah Jessica Parker as the executive producer on a new show named American Artist. The competition will bring together contemporary artists from all mediums, including sculpture, painting, photography, and industrial design, to compete for a gallery show, cash prize, and sponsored national tour. Premiere dates have not been announced for either show, but we'll keep you posted.

This Just In: Sneak Peek the Project Runway Digs
I'm sure that many of you, like myself, will be tuning in to the first episode of season five of Project Runway tonight. I only hope that there are as many great designers this season as there were in season four! While I can't predict the talent level of this season's contestant pool (though I suspect it's high), I can tell you that contestants, who had previously been housed at New Gotham for the last season, are back to the original digs at Atlas New York.

Project Runway, Episode 1 "Let's Start From the Beginning"

Project Runway fanatics know that last night's challenge — creating clothes out of items from Gristedes Supermarket — was nothing new. Hence the title of the episode, "Let's Start From the Beginning." And start from the beginning they did because they brought on Season 1 contestant, and winner of the original Gristedes challenge, Austin Scarlett, as a guest judge. Not surprisingly, the 16 designers freaked out upon hearing their challenge. I bet you half of them didn't even pay attention to Austin's instructions as they were busy visualizing which aisle they were going to run to. While some of them, including some of my favorites, were a little bit of a let down, others stepped up to the plate and impressed us.

"Do I think it's pretty? No." The simple, but deep cutting words of one of our favorite Project Runway judges, Michael Kors — gotta love it. You've met the new batch of aspiring designers and now it's showtime. Project Runway Season Five premieres tonight! Everyone seems pretty wide eyed and excited, but we all know that will soon change. With short and sometimes not so sweet cameos from Tim Gunn, Heidi, Nina and Michael, my favorite part of this video is the faces. Faces of fear, relief, worry and shock, you know what I'm talking about. And I must say: Why is Kelly hating on Nina? She's not so bad, Michael can be just as scary. Welcome the Cast of Project Runway, Season 5

We're taught not to judge a book by its cover, but when you're an unknown fashion designer, all you have is your cover and a mini bio. As we prepare to welcome the new hopefuls of Project Runway into our homes this Wednesday, the three I'm drawn to right off the bat are Emily (left), who worked with Jeremy Scott; Wesley (center), the sharpest dresser from the guys; and Leanne (right), who graduated from FIDM in San Francisco.

If you wish, you can read more in depth about all the contestants. We have yet to see who does the most innovative work, but it's safe to assume that those who look fashion-forward will most probably prove that in their work. I hope, like last season, my predictions are somewhat right. And who knows, since many of the males are not so dashing, maybe we'll have a female winner!

A Few Fab Words With Heidi Klum(!)

Heidi Klum. Where to begin? From the beginning, I suppose. German born Klum is no longer just a model. She is a model, actress, TV presenter, fashion designer, television producer, singer, wife and mother. No wonder Klum continues to inspire so many. She started as a model and Victoria's Secret model — that body, that face — and worked her way into our hearts hosting Project Runway and embarked on fashion projects along the way, i.e., her jewelry line and collaborating with Jordache.

Now married to Seal and the mother of three, Heidi always has a smile on her face. That is what inspires me. She is hardworking, doesn't take things for granted and seems to be a very happy person. And so, we are so excited we got an exclusive interview with the multi-tasking model! Be sure to also read her beauty interview with Bella.

Can you describe your personal style and how it has evolved over the years?

I have always had a very unique sense of style. I love bright colors and bold prints that make a statement. When I was young I was all about be-dazzling! I would be-dazzle everything from jean jackets to bags. That love for glitz and glam has stayed with me over the years but has matured. In my everyday life comfort is very important. I love throwing on a classic pair of jeans with a cozy tank and flip flops, especially when running around with the kids.
