Fab Finding Follow-Up: The Ultimate Coat Hunt

Last week I told you my co-worker is on the ultimate coat hunt. Your mission was to help her find a coat that's lined, preferably wool, past her waist, but not to her knees. Since she's petite, it needed to be available in either petite or extra small. There were so many great finds, but unfortunately I couldn't feature them all. Thanks to all who helped!

I started you off with these Dolce Vita Gray Suede Boots ($180) because it help set the Autumn mood. Let's see what you all came up with.

Come Fab Finding With Me: The Ultimate Coat Hunt

My co-worker is on the ultimate coat hunt. She wants to stay warm and look fashion forward. Fair enough.

Here's your mission: Help her find a coat that's lined, preferably wool, past her waist, but not to her knees. She must be able to wear it with black and brown boots, so gray or a pretty color will work. Since she's petite, it needs to be available in either petite or extra small. Kerry Washington and her new bangs attended the Courage in Journalism Awards in Beverly Hills last night. The actress stunned in a light gray Peter Som corset dress that hugged her in all the right places. But the real star of the night was her gorgeous black rhinestone necklace. Wow. It sits perfectly on her smooth decollete and provides the right amount of pizazz. Black accessories elevate the look. Just lovely.

Every girl needs one-on-one time with her mother. Last weekend, Mom and I headed to a cute little bed and breakfast inn to spend some quality time together.

It was a quick, overnight trip so all I needed from you was a nice dinner outfit. I threw everything in this cute See by Chloe Sundance Tote ($495) so wrinkle-free clothing was a must. Don't you love the pretty, plum color? Let's see what you all came up with!

These Boots Are Made For Walking: Gorgeous Gray

Obsessed. I've always been into all things gray; it's my neutral. Black sometimes feels too harsh, white is too delicate, and beige is . . . beige is so blah. But gray has the ability to compliment everything and comes off as cool and collected. It makes colors pop and tempers icy neutrals. In suede, it's plush, in leather, it's modern. As fabulous as they are, I never said celebrities don't sometimes wear the silliest trends. The gladiator tuck is a questionable one. Here, some starry eyed youngins are sporting their skinnies tucked into their gladiator sandals. Sienna Miller was actually spotted wearing this style in 2005 and it's obvious as to why it hasn't caught on that quickly. I'm on the fence; I like the look with gladiator heels better, at least it elongates. I suggest sticking with dark colors — dark denims and brown and black glads. But if you're young, bold and funky, tuck yourself right in.

Here is a thoroughly modern Carrie look that didn't make it into the movie. Oh sh*t. Did I just spoil something? Nah. This outfit may look familiar though as it did appear in promotional items. Too bad it wasn't on the big screen because it's a keeper. It's also an expensive ensemble; the dress is Vivienne Westwood (that tailoring=to die for), the shoes are Manolo Blahnik, the feather clutch is Salvatore Ferragamo and the studded belt is vintage. I Want This Wardrobe: Cashmere Mafia, Mia Mason

We're four episodes into Cashmere Mafia and I still haven't made up my mind about the show and the wardrobe. Yes, I respect costume designer Patricia Field for her work on Sex and the City, but overall, the outfits are a bit unrealistic. I mean, do these women ever take off those trendy belts?

One look I did admire from this week's episode, "The Deciders," was that of Lucy Liu's character, Mia Mason. She made making her ex-fiance jealous look good in her metallic striped dress, cropped trench, suede ankle boots, and quilted bag. We may never end up dating a hot brain surgeon like Mia, but we can steal her wardrobe!

Well lookie here: actress Joy Bryant wore the J.Crew Talitha Patchwork Dress at a cocktail party at the Chateau Marmont in LA! She looks lovely and lively in her maxi dress. She got creative with her heather grey cardigan by tying it instead of buttoning it up - love it. And her pairing two necklaces together is super cool too. I couldn't see her shoes, so I gave her a cute pair I thought she might be wearing!

You all know by now that I am a huge fan of gladiator sandals, even though my friends say I look like Hercules when I wear them. Whatever. Dolce Vita's online boutique is home away from home to many fashionistas (especially shoe worshippers) who can't get themselves to the Dolce Vita stores in NYC and LA. Mini wedges are another 70s era shoe throwback, along with wood-heeled wedges and cork heels. Look, I don't make the trends, I just report them!
