I can totally see Ashley rocking this unique look.Like many of the other guests, Hilary opted for an LBD. But hers isn't any old black dress; it has a sexy sheer layer. She then cinched her ensemble with a wide leather belt and kept her feet simple with black patent pumps. She dressed up her earlobes with large earrings — her signature. Gwyneth Paltrow confidently walked the Parisian red carpet at the premiere of her movie Two Lovers. Admit it: She took a risk wearing this Antonio Berardi sheer lace dress from his Spring '09 collection. Clearly we can see her panties and bra, but since that's the point of the frock, she doesn't seem to mind. Her black and white booties match her dress so perfectly, you would think they were made by the same designer. Negatory, they're Rupert Sanderson's Kit Kat shoe boots ($1,100). A diamond necklace and earrings lend shine and sophistication to the look. What do you think? Did Gwyneth shut it down or did she reveal too much?

At LA Fashion Week, she proved that sheer doesn't have to equal slutty. To contrast the overly feminine floral blouse, Heidi wore a black textural mini skirt. And way to spice things up with the gray suede pumps. An Elizabeth and James silver ring and a patent chain-handle bag round it all in Heidi's signature sexy and confident way.

Online Sale Alert! Savings at Revolve Clothing

If I could buy everything at Revolve Clothing, I probably would. Too bad the steep prices stop me. The good news is that its sale section has plenty of items for cheaper than usual. Right now you'll find dresses, tops, pants, and a few purses and shoes.

I have been eyeing this Nanette Lepore Ain't She Sweet Top ($160, originally $320) for some time now. It will give me a chance to participate in the sheer trend without revealing too much.

Selma always seems to have a trick up her sleeve when it comes to fashion — she's one of the few people I've seen attempt the sheer trend and pull it off. Her Marc Jacobs grey cashmere shell and skirt look not only luxurious but comfortable. Insert Coco Chanel quote here: "Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury." Add some simple, beautiful jewelry and a pop of color, and you've got yourself a modern classic.

See-through clothes make most gals say, oh, sheer. But we can't avoid the trend altogether because it was everywhere on the Spring runways, including BCBG (left) and Marc Jacobs.

What we can do is find a sheer style that works for our lifestyles and body types. That's precisely what a good friend of mine did recently when she bought a see-through watercolor slip and wore it as an ultrafemme dress.

The key is to find a slip to pair underneath. Pick a fun color so it purposefully shows and mimics the runways. The next time you hit up a department store, don't overlook the lingerie department. Find a sheer slip that can pass as a dress or top, wear it with a colorful slip, and sheer on!

New York Fashion Week, Spring 2008: BCBG

Hello lover! The gauzes and tulles that the feminine master Max Azria sent floating down his runway were captivating; they complement his Spring themes of luminosity and transparency perfectly. The corsetry was refined, the pleated full skirts of the dresses divine. Everything seemed to be belted at the waist (take note!), while loose origami pleating was a favorite embellishment. The grey and beige palette, punctuated with blushes and mustards...puts me in the mood to skip Fall and head straight for Spring! A much more wearable collection than the heavy and disorganized Fall collection, I'm sure the starlet trio in the front row - Ashlee, Brittany Snow, Sophie Bush - will be popping up in these luminous designs.

On a separate note, I have to wonder: Vogue editor Anna Wintour was sitting in front of me at the show. Did she approve as much as I did?
