It looks like the weather is cooling in NYC (already?), but Ashley Olsen kept herself warm in an incognito long black coat. Her choice of black sandals, however, revealed that it's still Summer. The actress stuck to her usual subdued palette by finishing the look with a gray scoop tee, skinny jeans, and of course, a macho watch. To add to her elusiveness, Ash wore black angular sunnies. It appears J.Crew is exclusively featuring vintage Rolex watches. It compliments J.Crew's cool, yuppy vibe, but I still refuse to spend that much on a timepiece. Fab Ad: Swatch Spring/Summer '08

I can never resist a Beatles tribute and that's why this Spring/Summer '08 Swatch ad campaign stood out to me when I was reading the digital version of V magazine. The girlie minidresses and shorts the models are sporting paint quite the fashionable picture. I'll admit that I've never thought of Swatch watches as cool, but these ads are helping to change my view. What is especially smart about these ads is that each watch style is complemented with a story. And in advertising, it's all about building that emotional connection with your customer. If you're an earthy kind of girl, chances are urban safari scene will appeal to you. If glitz and glamour is your thing, the dancers in poufy gowns will be right up your alley, or shall I say, gated community. Do these ads spark your interest?

Don't even tell me these little candy colored Marc watch necklaces haven't made you swoon before. I know they came out a while ago but they have sparked a trend. Watch necklaces are officially the new way to wear time and I quite like the vintage appeal turned modern adornment. These can also be cheeky and a conversation piece; a match made in fashion heaven. I first came across the totally hip watches from Nixon about six months ago, and suddenly, I am seeing them everywhere. Without fail, the designs always manage to catch my eye. The Southern California company has been around for eight years, but now it's rocketing into stardom with mid-range watch designs that are sleek and edgy with just a little bit of surfer edge. I also love how Nixon's online store divides its watches according to "Business Class" and "Coach Class" to meet your jet-setting budget. Here are some of my favorite looks from the line.

Tell Time With a Twist

Nooka takes watch design to a whole new level. Rather than just making its watches look cool —after all, there's no shortage of cool watches out there — Nooka is changing the way its customers tell time. The company was founded by designer Matthew Waldman, who in 1997 was staring at a large wall clock and was suddenly struck by how few ways there were to display the time. Since then, he's been reinventing the watch face.

For instance, one of Nooka's newest models, the Zen-H, looks more like a bar graph. The top two bars show the hours, the third bar displays the minutes, and the bottom line ticks off the seconds.
